The thing that interests and moves me is the ephemerality and specifically the beauty of it. The test of time, the beauty of transiency and the imperfection of it are a common thread in my work.
About the artist:
Nelianne Kroon: In 2016 I graduated from the School voor Fotografie in Utrecht. I have always been a ‘visual thinker’ and felt the need to use that given in my life. Individual portrait photography and artistic art photography is what I do. In 2020 I was asked to join an art society, it was the first time my work was considered as Art. This made me realize I had to see myself as an artist and believe in myself and in my work. This resulted in my first exhibition. Meanwhile we are two years down the road and my work is part of the collection of several private as well as institutional clients. My inspiration helps me develop myself. I observe, I watch and I see.. I place my creativity above the technique, often impulsively, without a plan, just coming from intuition. I am often asked how I come up with my ideas and frankly, I wonder about that myself. The way one looks at things determine whether it is what it seems to be. It can move and delight us.
When it comes to making portraits I work with all ages, distinctive and meaningful. Making portraits is like communicating. You need each other for a beautiful result.
