About the artist:
Jaap Broersma (1965) paints the city. Wandering through neighborhoods and back alleys he meets ordinary and curious people, run-down industrial sites, and oceans of desolation. After half a life as a diplomat, banker, and development worker, he changed his scope in life ten years ago and followed his art training at the Wackers Art Academy in Amsterdam and the Academy of Art in Florence. He also completed his masters philosophy at the University of Amsterdam. Ever since he has been painting and writing the daily life that surrounds him.
